Blob Wars : Episode II

They're Ready. Will You Be?

Introduction | News and Updates | Version Watch | Features | Screenshots | Requirements | Downloads | FAQ | Feedback

 Introduction

With the apparent defeat of Galdov and the reclaiming of the Fire, Time, Space and Reality Crystals the Blobs' battle was only just beginning. Bob had rescued many Blobs and fought many battles, but now he had an ever bigger task ahead of him. The Blobs' homeworld is still littered with the alien forces and Bob once again makes it his task to lead the counter attack. But even without Galdov the aliens are still extremely well organised...

 News and Updates

Note: Until version 1.0 it is possible that save games from different versions may become incompatible with each other.

10 May 2008 - Version 0.93 is now available. Changes and updates in this version include,

  • More hints for Boss fights
  • Player movement fixed (no longer walks in diagonal, instead of straight)
  • GUI and mini games can be controlled via keyboard / joystick, as well as the mouse
  • Extra animation frames added to one particular boss fight (not listing, as minor spoiler)
  • Bob now drops bread crumbs for other blobs to follow
  • Bob and the other blobs can now step over small obstacles without needing to jump
  • Misc. bug fixes

And now that that is out of the way we will attempt to make the camera better (which no doubt will be the only major change to 0.94!). Please keep in mind that third person cameras are, and always will be, tricky to implement. So please bear with us...

26th April 2008 - Version 0.92 is now available. Changes and updates in this version include,

  • Real time cutscenes (some are still quite rough around the edges)
  • Items should no longer become stuck in walls
  • Teeka can no longer die. He will teleport away if his energy hits 0.
  • Teeka and the other blobs are more aggressive when they fight
  • The game automatically pauses if focus is lost (e.g. a screensaver comes on)
  • Misc. changes to the maps
  • Misc. changes to fix bugs
  • Some extra hints for boss battles (eg - in the Crypt)

 FAQ

Where's the gameplay manual?

Upon unarchiving Blob and Conquer it can be found in the doc directory. Open index.html in a webbrowser to read it. If you've installed the game then the default location for the manual is /usr/share/doc/blobAndConquer/index.html

When will the final version of the game be available?

Hopefully sometime later this year.

How can I translate the game?

You will be able use GNU Gettext for this soon.
